I have had to live with toenail fungus for over 9 years. I finally told my doctor about this problem and she prescribed Lamisil. I am very grateful for this medicine because out of hundreds and hundreds of products that I have attempted to use, Lamisil, has been the only amazing cure for this disgusting toenail issue I have. Eight weeks later I have half my toenails that I haven’t seen in a very long time! I am beyond excited!!

Oral medicine made me sick so I tried this stuff. I used it twice a day, in conjunction with tea tree oil, for about 3 mos. then went down to once a day. Within the first few weeks, I noticed an improvement. Now (after 8 mos of treatment) I use it once a day w/tea tree oil and my nail is growing back healthy. After 8 mos, I’ve used only one bottle. You don’t need a lot of the stuff for one nail. It does appear to be effective, although I’m afraid that the fungus will return if I stop using Pur Nail.

I was prescribed terbinafine and took it everyday for 2 years. My nail fungus didn’t get any worse (2 nails affected), but didn’t get any better either. Then my doctor prescribed lamisil ($500+), I paid $50 a month copay for 6 months. It
didn’t do a thing either, as a matter of fact, 2 more nails became affected. The terbinafine copay was $35 a month for 24 months so I have wasted a lot of money, and no cure.

I had been taking this for about 3 weeks when I had to stop due to stomach problems. Although my bloodwork was OK and the doctor said there was no damage to my kidneys, while taking the medicine it became very hard to digest food and I eventually turned to a diet of yogurt, rice, bananas, toast and thin soup only. It was painful and unpleasant. However, I did notice an improvement in my toenail fungus, although once I stopped taking the pills the fungus came back even worse than before.

One and a half weeks after I started using lamisil I noticed muscle spasms in my right side. I went in to the doctor and had a liver panel done. The results were that the Lamisil was damaging my liver, and the doctor told me to stop taking it immediately. Needless to say, It did not work.

After a full year of battling my fungus I can say that I am finally free of it. My doctor recommended that I use Lamisil because of the severity of my infection. I used in combination with a otc topical treatment.

I had to take a pill every day and every month I would have to go to the hospital for blood work to make sure my kidneys were functioning fine.

This can be some serious stuff with a lot of side effects including nausea and headaches. I experienced these more frequently throughout the year than other years without this drug.

Beyond those little quirks Lamisil really did the job but it took time and patience on my part.
